Summer Fridays are over…Anna’s back to the ol’ grind.
Once October hit, Katie pulled out the leaf garland she crafted 4 years ago. And made additional bunting for our family photo. We have yet to meet something that can’t be improved with bunting. Case in point: our fire escape adorned with a prayer flag brought back from Bhutan by our cousin. It ain’t officially fall until you’ve picked up a kid from school. Here’s Jude lined up for dismissal. Children in school lines holding hands are just the sweetest.
And a perfect fall weekend spent watching people stuff their faces with dumplings. The winner? A teensy, tiny girl who downed 90 (!) dumplings in 2 minutes. Sadly, the dumpling mascot is not pictured.
Chinatown is endlessly fascinating. I never get tired of walking past buckets brimming with live eels, crabs and frogs. Or windows full of chickens and geese on nooses. In Chicago I orient myself according to the lake. Here, the Empire State Building does the job.
